White Rose Crafts LLC

Our Story

So, first of all, what's in a name? Why "White Rose Crafts"? The owner, Kay Barnes, is a paper-crafter of many years' standing, who hails from Yorkshire, England. The White Rose is the heraldic symbol of Yorkshire, and dates back to at least the Fourteenth Century - possibly even before that! And it's well known in the UK that Yorkshire people are proud of their roots!

Kay moved to the United States, initially, to work as director of an organization providing help to the homeless on the outskirts of Washington DC. When that contract came to an end, she moved out of the city to enjoy country life... and with time to devote to it, and the encouragement of a whole set of crafty friends, she decided to embark on a new path that would give expression to her other great passion in life...  for all things glittery, shiny, and papery...!

Kay says, "As a passionate crafter myself, my aim is to create a welcoming, friendly online store, where customers who get in touch can be sure of finding someone who is enthusiastic, helpful and personally interested in the products."

"I do teach occasional cardmaking or scrapbooking classes here in Northern Virginia; all materials are provided, along with light refreshments and a lot of fun! Please feel free to drop me a line if you're interested. Whether you're attending a class or contacting about an online order, a warm welcome, and my 100% commitment to the best service that I can give, are my promises to you!"
